about_us2We’re going to start a revolution: we’re going to turn the word ‘menopause’ upside down and inside out

When we’re done, the world will no longer think that being menopausal means that you’re past it. Will it mean that you’re going through some changes? Of course. Will it mean that you’re any less fabulous? Absolutely not. Identical twin sisters on the far side of forty, we’re just beginning our menopausal journey. Two hot chicks and the menopause is our first step to changing attitudes about what it means to be menopausal. Full of fitness, fashion, beauty and food diaries that are honest, frank and fun, we want to show the world that this isn’t the beginning of the end, merely the end of the beginning, and we can’t wait to find out what comes next. Are you with us?

So, how did the idea of this blog come about? Well, during one of our many lengthy chats, the dreaded ‘menopause’ came up. We started to research it, but were distinctly uninspired by most of the information that’s currently out there – it’s pretty dated, depressing and, dare we say, boring.

Nearly everything we read focused on how awful it will be and how we’ll be ‘past it’…Err, thanks but no thanks. We want to know what to expect, but we also want to know how to make our transition through the menopause as easy as possible and, equally as important, how to celebrate the next chapter of our lives. So we decided to grab the bull by the horns and start our own blog, charting our experiences on this journey.

download (4)~2Carol: I’m a wife, a mother and a fashion lover with an addiction to high heels and anything that sparkles, and a passion for finding ways to live a happy and healthy life. Where am I on the path of menopause? I’d say that I’m peri-menopausal: I’ve started to notice changes like lighter, shorter periods, my body has started to store fat, and I’ve experienced a few night sweats. So it’s definitely started. But rather than feel scared, I’m choosing to celebrate this new era!!!

download (3)~3Tina: I’m a wife, a mother to two adorable rascals, and a personal trainer with an enormous passion for all things fitness and well-being related. I’ve worked in the fitness industry for over 15 years, and have trained a whole host of people from models to professional footballers (woo hoo!) to Joe Public. Helping women feel great and sparkle from within is one of my biggest joys. I’m Peri- Menopausal and Proud haha! I choose to embrace these changes with positivity and knowledge, learning how to live my life with these changes in a balanced and harmonious way. I have noticed I have drier skin, mood changes, and hormonal migraines which are the bain of my life. However, I am on a mission to get these under control and I will report back soon and share my findings with you all chicks.
